The curriculum

Each year of study is validated by an oral and written exam, the general minimum average of which must be equal to or greater than 10/20 to allow entry into the law degree 1.

The good elements, which attest to an overall average equal to or greater than 15/20 can claim direct access under license 2.

Law license 1 is known for its difficulty. This is why capacity candidates must adapt to the demanding pace of this type of course and fully master the heterogeneous bases of the program to optimize their entry into the 1st cycle. In case of panic or excessive demotivation, nothing prevents you from directing you towards a DUT Legal careers at the end of your two years of preparation.

What about pursuing studies?

Holders of the capacity in law can continue their studies at the university in the 1st year of the law license (possibility of entering the 2nd year of the license depending on the results of the capacity examination), in the 1st year of the DUT Carrières legal or BTS Notary and take the public service exams.

Testimonials

Christophe Tumbarello has chosen to resume his studies thanks to this course. It was at the Toulon Law School that he followed the training: “  I don’t have the bac and I wanted to resume my studies. It was my only alternative because I was very interested in labour law. Depending on the university, the number of subjects is more or less high. We had between 30 and 40. It was very hard, we had to hang on. I stopped my professional activity to be able to follow the courses,  ”he explains.

Thanks to a mark above 15 out of 20, he can now directly enter the second year in law university. “  I had more than 15” he continues, “it was a great experience to discover how the faculty works even if I no longer had time for leisure. Next year I will enter my second year of law at Paris 2, I would like to have the status of a lawyer and specialize in labour law.

For her part, Emilie Martin has just validated her capacity in law at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in distance education.

With an average of 13, she cannot claim to enter the second year of law.

“  I know that many students who go through this course do not have their baccalaureate and want to go to university. It’s not my case. I had an ES bac a little over ten years ago with good honours. If I followed this course, it was to get back into the mix, “she argues.

The first year, it was very difficult and I repeated. Then, I persevered and adapted to the university rhythm which is very difficult. The methodological regroupings once a month helped me a lot to revise important points of the courses. I am satisfied because these are very demanding years, I was able to compare with what I did in law school ten years ago and I find that the level is very high. Moreover, I am surprised when we say that this training is accessible to young students who have not had the baccalaureate because it requires a lot of maturity, rigour and autonomy. I didn’t think I would validate it but I wanted to prove to myself that I was capable of it. Now, since I have no economic imperatives, legal secretary or in local authorities, ”she concludes.
